Woonbestuur de kwekerij

Just before I started my internship, I lived in student housing. One of my roommates was a member of the building committee, and I was asked to help design a logo for the newly developed student and starter housing area called "de Kwekerij."

The architecture of the buildings is inspired by nature, particularly trees. The buildings are designed to be environmentally friendly and energy-efficient, with well-insulated windows and everything powered by electricity. With this in mind, I wanted the logo to reflect the ethos behind the project. The shapes are inspired by the top-down view of six apartment buildings. Each building has a different color scheme, inspired by the trees they are named after. Since it's a building committee, the logo needed to inspire confidence and empathy. The committee not only organises events but also helps residents with problems. To reflect this, I chose lighter, happier colours, like a fresh spring grass green and a yellow-orange hue, reminiscent of the sunrise.

Since this is a logo, it needed to be easy to recognise, and versatile enough to be used in both large and small formats. The typography had to be clear and instantly convey who they are and what they do.
